Go Dbacks!

Dana was home for a few days and we scored some cheap tickets to go to a Diamondbacks baseball game! We went to the April 19th game against St. Louis. Of course I forget to take the camera.. so we have a couple of cell phone picts. Dbacks lost... but that's alright because we had a blast!! It was our first time going to a game this season.

Cow Truckin'

Dana is still cow truckin'. They had a load of cows to be picked up in San Francisco, CA. The load got pushed back a day so Ty and Dana had some time to kill... They went sight seeing in a Peterbilt. Crazy guys!

Spring Break '10

When I asked the kids what they wanted to do for Spring Break this year, they both told me "Go to St. David!!" They love to go to St. David and visit their cousins. They have so much fun and are on the go so much they don't have time to get bored! It didn't work out this time for them to stay...
Darla and Thor-

We went to St. David on Monday for Jayden's dentist appt. She didn't get anything new done this time other then some new color rubberbands. She has lost some teeth on the bottom and we are just waiting for 1 little straggler tooth to grow in so she can get her bottom braces started. Uncle Brett says it will be this summer sometime before she's ready for the bottoms. *Useless but kind of cool random fact*- Jayden has 2 teeth on the bottom that she won't ever lose. They are adult teeth. And she has had them since she very first got teeth. It runs on my side of the family. My mom has it too. Kinda cool!!

After Jay's appt we ran out to St. David and had pizza for lunch with Aunt Kathy, Taylor, and Leea. I am so thankful that Leea, Jayden, Taylor and Blake all get along so well. They are very close!

We brought our puppy, Thor, (yes, she's a girl with a boy name) to see her sister Darla. My Aunt Jan lives in St. David near my grandparents and she bought one of my puppies. We haden't seen Darla since she was 8 weeks old so we were very excited to see her! The puppies remembered each other and played like crazy. We took a ton of pictures, but 2 wiggly pups don't make for very good pictures!

While the puppies played, I got to visit with my grandparents. My dad also showed up, so I got to visit with him too. Seeing family always makes me happy! It wasn't a bad start to Spring Break!

The kids left to go to the dunes with Uncle Brett, J.J, Taylor, and Leea on Wed. They stayed out at the dunes until Sunday. They never take any pictures out there for some reason. Jayden usually has her camera with her all the time... but never comes home with pictures. I'm going to have to work on her! Maybe next year I can get her to take some pictures for me!

Blake - Jailbird

Ok, he isn't really a jailbird. But he could have been... (shhhh don't tell him I'm posting this HAHAHA)

Feb 6th - Blake had spent the day at his friend Shane's house and asked if he could spend the night there. I said "yes" and went on with my day. Jayden was at a friends house too and I was looking forward to some alone time. I stayed up late watching movies and finally went to bed at about 1am. My phone rang at 3 am, with Blake's number. I was wondering what the silly boy wanted at 3am, so when I answered and it wasn't Blake's voice on the phone, I was a little concerned. I heard when I answered "Is this Blake's mom" I said, yes, it is. Who is this? He tells me "This is Maricopa County Sheriff Dept, (we live in Pinal County) I have Blake" A million thoughts rushed thru my head.. The cop goes on to explain that Blake and Shane were skateboarding in a empty grocery store parking lot. They weren't causing trouble, but they were violating curfew. He also tells me that they were 8 miles(!!!) from Shane's house. Ok, that explains why it's Maricopa County Sheriff calling and not Pinal County. They were far enough away from Shane's house to cross county lines. The Sheriff drove the boys back to Shane's house, gave them a stern warning and talked to Shane's parents.

Blake told me the next day when I picked him up that the Sheriff had ran his record and that his Amber Alert from when he was 8 years old came up on his record! I wouldn't have thought that would be on his record. Pretty crazy!

Blake was my slave for the next week. He had a TON of chores to do for me. He got lucky that the cop was nice.. the punishment for curfew violation is a $250.00 fine and 40 hours community service.

I'm pretty sure that Blake learned his lesson and won't be doing that ever again. :)

Whew... more then 1 today!

The Friday before Thanksgiving, Dana was laid off from his Coffman Construction job. He didn't see it coming at all. He thought he was safe from the layoffs. I thought he was joking when he called me and told me he had been laid off.

He's called everyone he knows at other companies, and they are not hiring either. They are all laying off too..

For now, he is hauling cows for Ty (Richmond Transport) and Luke (Verburg Transport) full time. Which means he's in the cow truck alot, and barely at home.

I am thankful that Dana worked hard and got his Class A CDL in July so he is legal to drive the big semi's to haul cows. I am thankful that the cow hauling business is booming still. I am thankful that Dana has something to fall back on, when so many others that are losing their jobs do not.

It's been awhile...

This is going to be one long post....

On Saturday August 15th, bright and early in the morning I woke up to my puppies being born! Mom dog is a French Bulldog (25 lbs) and dad is an English Bulldog (50lbs). We had a c-section scheduled for Monday morning (Bulldogs can't deliver naturally). But Izzie had other plans. I had babysat on Friday night until 2am. When I got home I checked Izzie's temp and it was still over a 100 degrees. She wasn't acting strange, she was her normal, huge, hungry self. I went to bed and at 5:30 am woke up to a puppy crying! I jumped out of bed, and there were 2 puppies already born. I thought for sure that she was done. She is just a tiny little girl. She wasn't interested in feeding them, so I woke Jayden up, and started to get dressed to run to the 24hour Walmart to get puppy milk and bottles. While I was getting dressed, Jay screams to me that Izzie just had another puppy! Izzie seemed to settle down and try and feed the 3 babies. I was sure she was done and ran out the door to Walmart. While driving home from Walmart, Jayden calls me and says "Izzie just had another one and it is VERY small. It isn't crying either. What do I do?!?" I talked her thru how to get the baby breathing, and pretty soon I could hear the little puppy cries. After I got home and made up some bottles, showed Jay how to bottlefeed without drowning the babies. We all settled down to feed the pups and get Izzie to clean them up. Izzie was exhausted. About 2 hours after the 4 puppies were born, Izzie started having more contractions and sure enough... puppy number 5 was born. I could *not* believe that little Izzie had 5 puppies in her belly. We gave Izzie and the puppies some time to rest and then weighed each puppy.

1st puppy was all white, female and weighed 7oz.

2nd puppy was an all black male and he was 6.5 oz.

3rd pup was a brindal female, she weighed 7oz.

4th was the tiny little runt male, all white. He was 4 oz!

5th was a girl, split in half colored. Half white, half black. She was 7 oz.

The next 8 weeks were quite an adventure! The puppies were all good puppies and grew like crazy. We found awesome homes for 4 of them, and kept 1 of them.

#1 puppy (Reilly) lives with the people I babysit for. I see her all the time. Shes a doll!

#2 puppy (Elliott) lives with the vet in Benson. He's a pretty brindal boy!

#3 lives (Darla) in St. David with my Aunt Jan and she is spoiled rotten!

#4 lives in a cow truck and travels all over the US! His name is Wilson and he is not a little runt anymore!! He's a big boy!

#5 lives with us. Thor is a beautiful girl, and the only one that got the Frenchie, stand up ears! She isn't black and white anymore. She is brindal and white. Very pretty colors!
About 2 weeks old:

4 weeks old: In birth order. Reilly, Elliott, Darla, Wilson, Thor

I'm sure I'll post some more pictures of the puppies sometime. I get pictures and updates on all of them.
